Rabbana Duas (Quranic)

The most powerful Quranic supplications beginning with "Rabbana — Our Lord." Memorised and recited by believers throughout Islamic history.

1. Dua for Good in This World & the Hereafter

Quran 2:201

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar

Translation

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

The most comprehensive dua in the Quran — it covers all of this life and the next. The Prophet ﷺ recited it frequently and it is recommended after every tawaf and throughout the day.

2. Dua for Steadfastness on the Right Path

Quran 3:8

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana mil ladunka rahmah, innaka antal-wahhab

Translation

Our Lord, do not cause our hearts to deviate after You have guided us, and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

The dua of the people of knowledge — those who fear deviation after being guided. Recite to ask Allah to keep your heart firm on Islam and not let it stray after hidayah.

3. Dua for Acceptance of Deeds

Quran 2:127

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Rabbana taqabbal minna, innaka antas-sami'ul-'alim

Translation

Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.

The dua of Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS) as they built the Kaaba. Recite after every act of worship, prayer, and good deed — asking Allah to accept it from you.

4. Dua for Patience and Victory

Quran 2:250

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna 'alal-qawmil-kafirin

Translation

Our Lord, pour upon us patience, plant our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

5. Dua for Forgiveness of Mistakes & Burdens

Quran 2:286

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا

Rabbana la tu'akhidhna in-nasina aw akhta'na, rabbana wa la tahmil 'alayna isran kama hamaltahu 'alal-ladhina min qablina

Translation

Our Lord, do not take us to account if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not place upon us a burden as You placed upon those before us.

The opening of the final verse of Surah Al-Baqarah. The Prophet ﷺ said Allah responds to each part of this dua: "I have done so." Recite for forgiveness of unintentional errors.

6. Dua of Forgiveness for Oneself and Parents

Quran 14:41

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

Rabbana ighfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu'minina yawma yaqumul-hisab

Translation

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day when the account is established.

The dua of Ibrahim (AS) for forgiveness — for himself, his parents, and all believers. Recite regularly to seek forgiveness for yourself, your parents (living or deceased), and the whole Muslim ummah.
