History of Grand Mosque of Kuwait
The Grand Mosque of Kuwait was completed in 1986 after 14 years of construction. Designed by a team of Kuwaiti and international architects, the mosque features a magnificent central dome 43 metres in diameter and 43 metres high. The complex covers 45,000 square metres and is one of the most impressive mosque complexes in the Gulf. It is managed by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and hosts major national Islamic events.
