About Shrewsbury Mosque
Shrewsbury Muslim Centre opened for its first prayers on 4 April 2014 as the town's first dedicated Muslim centre. It was established by members of the Bangladeshi Welfare Association in Shropshire, who worked for over twelve years to secure premises after the community had relied for years on Friday prayers hosted by the United Reformed Church in Shrewsbury. With the support of Shropshire Council and local residents of all faiths, the building was designated and opened as the Muslim Prayer Centre, serving the Muslim community of Shropshire and beyond.
