This site is operated as a sadaqah jariyah — an Islamic concept of perpetual charity whose benefit continues after the initial act. Prayer times, mosque listings and editorial are free and not for sale. Hosting is funded by labelled charity partnerships and optional reader support (see commercial disclosure below).

## Prayer Times Data Source

Prayer-time pages are pre-rendered (static site generation) and an edge function brings each city hub and Fajr/Dhuhr/Asr/Maghrib/Isha page up to the city's CURRENT local date on every request — the quick answer, meta description, FAQ answers and JSON-LD all state today's date and times in the server HTML, without JavaScript. Each page names its schedule date and timezone. Data sources by city:

- **London (UK):** Official **London Unified Prayer Timetable (LUPT)** — the same observational timetable followed by East London Mosque, London Central Mosque and most mosques inside the M25. Fajr and Isha come from Hizbul Ulama UK moonsighting observation, not a fixed angle.
- **All other cities:** Aladhan API (https://api.aladhan.com) with each country's officially recognised calculation method (ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Karachi, Dubai, Diyanet, etc.).

## Calculation Methods

Islamic prayer times are determined by the position of the sun relative to a location's latitude and longitude. Different scholarly organisations have established slightly different angles for Fajr (dawn) and Isha (night), leading to regional variations of a few minutes.

- Every prayer-time page states the schedule date and IANA timezone its server-rendered answer was generated for (e.g. "Schedule date: 25 Sept 2026, Europe/London"). The interactive timetable recalculates in the visitor's browser for the city's current date, and a 7-day table plus a monthly table are server-rendered for dates beyond today
- Times are calculated prayer START times for the city's coordinates, not a mosque's iqamah/jamaat (congregation) time
- "No ads, no tracking, 100% free" is an absolute commitment — there is no advertising network, no analytics pixels, no tracking cookies
